The resident flock of hens can be seen in the fields here at Ellenden Farm; Granny Margaret who talks to the hens every day, collects their eggs, which are sold in the shop. We also, supplement the supply with locally sourced free range eggs. The eggs are also, used in the café for cooked breakfasts, cakes, and sandwiches. When supply allows we offer duck eggs, and quail eggs.
Ellenden has some new young pullets in the Hen Pen, who are laying lots of eggs. They are smaller than hen eggs, but offer a rich colour yoke and are very tasty when fried, poached, or scrambled. Great for breakfasts!
